"Splendid views" – this is the title of the caricature exhibition, which will be open to the public until 7. November in the framework of the series "church meets…" Can be seen in the house of the long rhon. In over 40 caricatures on topics such as lifestyle, consumption, climate change and justice, cartoonists dare to take a surprisingly different look at the challenges of our time.
In a funny, amazing and sometimes frightening way, they make us think about the reasons for individual behavior, but also about the big picture of world politics.
Actually, 99 caricatures belong to the exhibition, but the space available in the information center only allows for a limited selection. The complete exhibition contributions can be seen in an accompanying book.
At the opening of the exhibition, the managing director of the nature park and biosphere reserve association klaus spitzl buried a number of guests and introduced the content of the cartoon exhibition.
In the archdiocese of bamberg, the exhibition was conceived in cooperation with misereor. It speaks out in a blunt way, but also with a wink, what is often everyday life. "We are all responsible", spitzl hoped that visitors to the exhibition would become aware of this to some extent.
The exhibition takes place within the framework of the series "church meets…" Of the deanery of bad neustadt held. The head of the diozesan office ilka seichter had the idea to present the caricatures in the house of the long rhon. "Church meets is about church being perceived in other spaces and contexts. We could have shown the exhibition in a church, but we deliberately want to go into other living spaces."
To the 7. November the exhibition can be seen at the haus der langen rhon during normal opening hours (in november: 10 a.M. To 4 p.M.).
