After the corona outbreak in a depot of the parcel delivery company DPD, the district of heinsberg mobilized additional employees to quickly trace the contacts of those infected.
A crisis team will meet this morning to discuss the next steps, said a spokesman for the district. All of the 80 or so people who tested positive at the site in huckelhoven are in home quarantine; as things stand, no one is in hospital, and so far there have only been mild cases, said a DPD spokesman.
The parcel delivery company suspended operations in huckelhoven at the end of last week and sent all 400 employees into two-week quarantines. After the end of the quarantine period, operations should continue, said the DPD spokesman.
The protection measures against the corona virus will be increased at all sites in germany. For example, frequently used hand scanners for packages should be disinfected even more frequently. The health department’s analyses had to determine what other changes would make sense. Even before the outbreak, distance rules and mandatory masks were in place at all DPD locations. All of the 80 or so who tested positive are in house quarantine.
