The children’s second-hand bazaar offers maternity wear, baby clothes, children’s toys at a fair price – often exactly what you were looking for – and has been doing so for the past 25 years. "Clearly a reason to celebrate!", according to a press release of the basarteam.
It all started in the spring of 1995, when the parents’ council of the kindergarten "klosterknirpse decided to hold a bazaar. In the beginning, the event was held in the evangelical parish hall, then moved to the school gymnasium in 2001 due to a lack of space, and in the fall of 2016 it was moved to the newly renovated sonnefeld domane. The new site offers not only enough space and a great location, but also plenty of parking for both helpers and customers, the team finds. The children’s bazaar is a great success every time.
This is thanks to the establishment of a permanent bazaar team nine years ago. The current team of ten has the good fortune to be able to rely on many hard-working helpers, who enjoy assembling and dismantling the bazaar and presenting the more than 8,500 items. "However, no one works here to get rich, but exclusively on a voluntary basis and thus not only helps the customers", the release continues. The lottery ticket goes to the kindergarten "klosterknirpse of the evangelical-lutheran church congregation of sonnefeld, whereby additional donations are always made for social purposes. Donations have already been made several times to the local helpers, the foundation for children with cancer, the BRK youth work or the youth fire department.
